Inter interested in Van de Beek

Donny van de Beek has been enduring a difficult spell with Manchester United since his £35 million move from Ajax in 2020, starting only four Premier League matches last term and spending no more than six minutes on the pitch in the current campaign. According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan might be willing to offer him a way out of his predicament at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old has been completely unable to break into the starting XI under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so far and seems even less likely to do so now, with Paul Pogba on superb form at the moment. The Frenchman has racked up seven assists in five league matches since the start of the season, and he doesn t look like being dropped any time soon.

Hangeland contract impasse continues

Brede Hangeland s agent has played down Fulham manager Martin Jol s suggestion that the defender is close to signing a new deal at the club.

Hangeland arrived at Craven Cottage in 2008 and has been a key player for the west London club.

But Fulham fear the 31-year-old will not sign a new deal, which means they could risk losing their captain on a free transfer.

While Hangeland s agent admits that negotiations are still ongoing, he believes that the longer it takes for a deal to be struck, the likelihood of the Norwegian international s departure increases.

Rune Hauge told reporters: We are still negotiating. We will see in one or three months.

But the longer it takes to reach an agreement, the chance that he will stay is decreasing.

We don´t make big comments on these things – Klopp unresponsive to Coutinho talk

Jurgen Klopp refused to be drawn on whether Liverpool had been offered the chance to bring Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield.

Coutinho joined Barcelona from the Reds in a deal worth €160million midway through the 2017-18 season but has endured a disappointing time at Camp Nou.

The Brazil playmaker has been frequently touted for a potential departure to finance Neymar s mooted return to the LaLiga champions.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been suggested as destinations for Coutinho s Premier League return and, speaking ahead of Friday s season opener against Norwich City, Klopp elected to keep his cards close to his chest
