Liverpool and Al-Ettifaq agree Henderson fee
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is set to leave the club following a reported agreement between the Merseysiders and Al-Ettifaq on a transfer fee of £12 million, plus potential add-ons to come on top of that amount.
Liverpool s transfer business this summer began in an optimistic way, as the departures of Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner were followed by the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. However, last week their plans were shaken with reports emerging about Henderson accepting Al-Ettifaq s offer of a highly lucrative three-year contract, as well as an offer of £40m arriving from Al-Ittihad for Fabinho.
Both transfers have now been agreed, and the Reds are expected to promptly reinvest the money they receive for the two experienced midfielders.
Manchester City agree Mahrez sale to Al-Ahli
Manchester City have reportedly accepted an offer of a fee potentially worth up to £30 million for the services of Riyad Mahrez from Al-Ahli, and the winger has been given permission to miss City s pre-season Asian tour in order for the transfer to be finalized.
The 32-year-old five-time Premier League winner has apparently been offered a three-year contract with the Saudi Pro League club, and now he s free to discuss the final details before signing it.
Apparently, the Algeria international was frustrated with a perceived lack of game-time during the 2022/23 treble-winning season for Pep Guardiola s team.
Newcastle close to completing Barnes signing
Newcastle are reportedly close to completing the signing of Harvey Barnes from Leicester City. The Magpies are believed to be working on the final details of the transfer. They expect to get it done for £35 million.
With a sale of Allan Saint-Maximin, whom manager Eddie Howe wanted to keep, apparently edging close as well, there s an obvious opening for Barnes in the Newcastle ranks.
The winger s motivation for the move appears clear he s being offered a chance to play in the Champions League instead of the English Championship.

The 29-year-old left-back s time with the Premier League champions came to an end this summer, following the expiration of his contract. Given all the publicity around the criminal proceedings against him that went on for a long time, City were never expected to offer him a new deal.
Mendy obviously decided that a move away from England was in his best interest as he faces the challenge of getting a severely damaged career back on track.
Barcelona sign Oriol Romeu
Barcelona have completed and confirmed the signing of Oriol Romeu from Girona. The Catalans reportedly agreed to pay a fee of €3.4 million to bring their former academy prospect back to Camp Nou.

Romeu rose through the famous La Masia and joined Chelsea on a permanent deal in 2011. He had loan spells with Valencia and Stuttgart, before moving on to Southampton where he gained significant Premier League experience. He joined Girona last summer, and his performances in La Liga obviously made an impression on his boyhood club, so much so that they ve now brought him back.
