Tite vows Brazil will continue dancing despite criticism

Brazil head coach Tite insists the Selecao will continue dancing during goal celebrations because it is part of their culture as he dismissed the suggestion they are showing disrespect.

Croatia await Brazil in the World Cup quarter-finals after Tite s side beat South Korea 4-1, a victory that saw them exhibit some of the best football on display at Qatar 2022.

Brazil players celebrated each goal by dancing, and Tite even joined in for the celebration after Richarlison made it 3-0.

The coach mimicked Richarlison s trademark pigeon dance after the Tottenham forward came over to the Brazil dugout.

Some pundits criticised Brazil for their celebrations, suggesting they were showing disregard for their opponents, but this is not an opinion Tite will accept.

Does Derrick Henry´s return matter for the Titans?

Despite claiming the number one seed in the AFC, there has not been much hype around the Tennessee Titans ahead of the start of their playoff campaign.

After they each exploded for five-touchdown performances in the Wild Card Round, most of the attention on the AFC side of the postseason has focused on the rematch between Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Kansas City Chiefs counterpart Patrick Mahomes.

Yet there is a 6ft 3in, 247-pound reason to pay attention to the Titans as they face Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round.

Running back Derrick Henry s season appeared to be over when he suffered a Jones fracture in his foot in the Titans Week 8 clash with the Indianapolis Colts.

But he was activated from injured reserve th…

Chelsea F.C. manager Jose Mourinho has indicated that Spain international midfielder Juan Mata could have a new role at Stamford Bridge this season, according to .

Mata, who joined the Blues from Valencia CF in a deal worth £23.5 million in August 2011, has been voted Chelsea Player of the Year in each of his first two seasons at the club.

Somewhat surprisingly, the return of Mourinho has raised doubts on the future of the Spain international, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2016.

However, the Portuguese boss has moved to rubbish the aforementioned speculation, insisting Mata fits into his plans.

Of course he fits into my plans, Mourinho said. I have my idea about him, about where he produces better and where he has more diff…

Tony Harrington named fourth official for Newcastle-Brentford after VAR ‘error’

A VAR who made what referees’ chief Howard Webb described as an “error” in awarding a goal to Manchester City in the last round of Premier League matches has been selected as a fourth official for the coming weekend.

Tony Harrington will be on the touchline for the Newcastle v Brentford match on Saturday, and will also be the referee for Friday night’s Championship game between Hull and Coventry as he continues his return from injury.

Malaga clinch El Hamdaoui loan signing

Malaga have announced the signing of Mounir El Hamdaoui on a season-long loan with an option to buy from Fiorentina.

The 29-year-old only joined the Italian club on a three-year deal in July 2012, but has now been farmed out to La Liga as Bernd Schuster looks to bolster his attacking options.

He will now hope to help Malaga turn things around after they kicked off the new campaign with 1-0 defeats to both Valencia and Barcelona.

El Hamdaoui began his career in the Netherlands with Excelsior, scoring 32 goals in 74 appearances for the Dutch club prior to moving to England with Tottenham.

However, the forward s time in the Premier League was largely disappointing and, after a brief loan spell with Derby County, he returned to the Eredivisie for stints with Willem I…

Portuguese newspaper that Borussia Dortmund are lining up a summer bid for FC Porto defender Abdoulaye Ba.

The Millionaires boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to sign another quality centre-back at the end of the season and he appears to have set his sights on the Senegalese stopper.

Abdoulaye Ba has a contract until June 2016 at Estadio do Dragao and a release clause of €40 million, but Borussia hope they can agree a fee with the Portuguese giants.

The 23-year-old has been under contract with Porto since 2008, and he enjoyed loan spells with Sporting Covilha and Academica before he was finally handed a senior debut for the Dragons.

Ba was recalled from the loan spell from Vitoria Guimaraes just few weeks ago as Nicolas Otamendi left the club and has since …

Gomez tells James to leave Real Madrid

James Rodriguez should accept that he will not play under Zinedine Zidane and leave Real Madrid, according to former Colombia boss Hernan Gomez.

The 24-year-old, a reported €80million signing from Monaco in 2014, struggled to earn a consistent place in Zidane s plans following his appointment as Madrid boss in January.

James has often been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the past season, with Manchester United among the clubs rumoured to be monitoring him, though the playmaker said last month that he intended to fight for his place in the Spanish capital.

But Colombian Gomez, who now coaches Panama but worked as James international manager between 2010 and 2011, says it is not right to see the national team s star player accept a role as…

Sunderland and Fulham battle for Rincon

Premier League sides Sunderland and Fulham are showing interest in Hamburg midfielder Tomas Rincon, according to The Sun.

The 25-year-old has a contract until the end of the season and everything suggests he won t be signing a new deal at Imtech Arena.

Rincon has just rejected the latest contract offer from Hamburg, which is enough to suggest he will be leaving the club at the earliest opportunity.

The Sun reports that Sunderland and Fulham are lining up January bids for the Venezuela international, with the midfielder likely to be available for £2.2 million.

This summer, Rincon was linked with a move to Hull City, with Hamburg confirming at the time they would consider any offer for the midfielder.

Tomas Rincon joined Hamburg from Deportivo Tac…

Bellamy was close to United switch

Cardiff City forward Craig Bellamy came close to joining Manchester United while playing for the club s rivals Manchester City.

Bellamy, who played for City between 2009 and 2011, before joining Cardiff on loan, has revealed Alex Ferguson was keen to sign him prior to his temporary switch.

However, the former Wales international also explained the deal was never likely to happen because of the rivalry between United and City.

My advisor had a conversation with United in 2010, shortly before I came to Cardiff on loan, Bellamy told Wales Online.

It was great to feel wanted, and I would have loved to do it but it was never going to be allowed to happen.

If Man City had agreed to it, then great. But point-blank they said no, and I never once pushed it.

Nagelsmann hits out at ´racist´ poll about make-up of Germany squad

Julian Nagelsmann has condemned a racist survey from German public broadcaster ARD, which asked respondents whether there should be more white players in the national team.

State broadcaster ARD asked 1,304 participants whether they would like to see more white players representing Germany at Euro 2024, with 21 per cent of respondents answering yes.

Germany and Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich described the poll as absolute nonsense on Saturday, saying the diversity of the national team was a major positive.

Coach Nagelsmann echoed those sentiments during a media briefing at the team s Herzogenaurach training base on Sunday, saying: It is racist. I feel we need to wake up.

Many people now in Europe had to flee, searching for a safe country.
